Buying a health wearable is usually the end of the decision-making process, but it is also when another question starts to matter: what happens if the device is damaged, lost or stops working?
UltrahumanX is built around that part of ownership. The membership covers Ultrahuman Ring AIR, Home and M1, combining device protection with support and replacement benefits.
There are two coverage periods, and the distinction matters because some of the broader benefits are available only with the two-year plan.
How much does UltrahumanX cost?
The 1-year UltrahumanX membership costs $36 per year, billed annually. The 2-year membership costs $27 per year, with $54 billed upfront for the full two-year period.
What comes with UltrahumanX?
The core membership benefits include accidental damage protection, priority support and free express replacements.
These are available across the coverage options, with the protection period depending on whether the member has selected one or two years.
UltrahumanX also includes 15% off all M1 plans, while additional coverage becomes available with the two-year option.
For Ring AIR, that longer coverage includes protection against theft and loss as well as a one-time size exchange if weight loss means the original ring no longer fits.
There is also Pregnancy Fit Coverage under the two-year plan.
The two-year plan adds more than extra time
The difference between the plans is not simply another year of the same protection.
With one-year coverage, Ring AIR, Home and M1 receive the core protection package, including accidental damage protection, priority support and express replacements.
The two-year plan adds several benefits that aren’t part of the one-year coverage. For Ring AIR, these include theft and loss protection, Weight Loss Coverage and Pregnancy Fit Coverage.
For Ultrahuman Home, the longer plan adds Environmental Wear Protection and access to experimental features through Ultrahuman Beta Access.
That makes the length of the membership relevant not only to how long protection lasts, but also to what types of situations are covered.
How the coverage period is calculated
The membership period begins from the activation date of the first covered device.
A one-year UltrahumanX plan remains valid for one year from the activation of the first Ring AIR, Home or M1. The two-year plan follows the same system over two years.
If the device isn’t activated within 60 days of purchase, Ultrahuman says the subscription will be automatically activated.
What happens if Ring AIR is damaged?
Accidental damage protection applies to Ring AIR, with Ultrahuman repairing or replacing the device depending on the problem.
Ring AIR is eligible for one replacement during the membership period.
The situation is different when the ring is lost or stolen. That protection is part of the two-year UltrahumanX coverage, so members with the one-year plan do not receive the same theft and loss benefit.
When a covered Ring AIR is lost, members can contact Ultrahuman support and provide the documentation required to validate the loss or theft before requesting a replacement.
What if your ring no longer fits?
Ring AIR also has a benefit that recognises something that can happen when the wearer’s body changes.
The one-time size exchange following weight loss is available with the two-year plan. It allows eligible members to exchange their Ring AIR if weight loss means their existing size no longer fits.
This is separate from replacing a ring because of accidental damage.
Home has additional two-year coverage
Ultrahuman Home also receives broader protection under the longer plan.
The two-year membership adds Environmental Wear Protection, covering the device under the specific conditions associated with that benefit.
It also provides early access to experimental features through Ultrahuman Beta Access, giving members an opportunity to access certain features before wider availability.
These benefits are specifically associated with the two-year coverage rather than simply being an extension of the one-year package.
M1 works a little differently
M1 uses sensors that can be replaced individually, so its replacement process isn’t quite the same as Ring AIR or Home.
Members can replace up to two M1 sensors per year when they are accidentally damaged or faulty. If additional replacements are required, Ultrahuman says it will issue a refund and arrange the return.
The membership also gives members 15% off M1 plans, providing a benefit that continues beyond the device-protection side of UltrahumanX.
Health-related coverage is also part of the longer plan
The two-year membership includes two additional benefits that are not simply about repairing or replacing hardware: Weight Loss Coverage and Pregnancy Fit Coverage.
The former relates to changes in ring size following weight loss, while Pregnancy Fit Coverage is intended to address fit considerations during pregnancy.
These benefits are part of the broader two-year package rather than the standard one-year protection.
You don’t have to buy UltrahumanX immediately
Ultrahuman allows customers to purchase UltrahumanX after buying Ring AIR or Home, as long as they do so within 30 days of the order date.
There is also a 30-day window to upgrade the membership after the original purchase.
For a one-year plan, renewal is possible within 15 days after the coverage expires. The two-year membership is already the maximum available coverage period and cannot be extended beyond those two years.
The important difference is what the extra year unlocks
UltrahumanX can look like a straightforward protection plan at first glance, but the two membership periods aren’t identical packages with different expiry dates.
The one-year plan provides the core protection around accidental damage, replacements and support.
The two-year plan keeps those benefits while adding specific protections and features, including theft and loss protection for Ring AIR, Weight Loss Coverage, Pregnancy Fit Coverage, Environmental Wear Protection for Home and Ultrahuman Beta Access.
That distinction is worth knowing when looking at UltrahumanX, because the additional year changes the scope of the membership as well as its duration.
